Kristen Faust

Loan Officer

Kristin Faust has more than 25 years experience in community development finance serving private, public and non-profit sectors. Ms Faust consults on community development finance issues across the United States assisting businesses, banks, community development financial institutions, government, and non-profit organizations to successfully access and deploy capital in underserved markets.

Most recently Ms. Faust was President of Enterprise Community Loan Fund, one of the largest non-depository community development financial institutions in the country. The $250,000,000 Loan Fund lends to non-profit organizations across the United States.

Prior to joining Enterprise Ms. Faust served as Chief Deputy Treasurer for California State Treasurer Philip Angelides where she was responsible for overseeing more than $300 billion in public investment funds.  She was instrumental in the Treasurer’s Double Bottom Line Initiative which handled more than $8 billion being invested in California’s emerging markets, and also revamped the tax credit allocation process from a lottery to a transparent, scored process resulting in high quality affordable housing meeting Californians’ diverse needs.

Ms. Faust got her start in California as the Director of Real Estate and Community Development at the Nehemiah Corporation of California responsible for an 800-unit affordable housing development portfolio, a $25,000,000 loan fund and the successful raising of $27 million of equity for the Nehemiah Sacramento Valley Fund, a double bottom line equity fund.

Prior to working in California, Ms. Faust spent fifteen years in community development banking in Chicago, primarily with LaSalle National Bank where she was Senior Vice President and started the Community Development Lending Department.

She received a BA from Brown University, and a Masters degree in City and Regional Planning from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Ms. Faust is a founding member of the National Association of Affordable Housing Lenders. She serves on the Board of Neighborworks Capital. She is a co-founder of the National Community Development Lending School sponsored annually by the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank.

She currently lives with her family in Silver Spring, Maryland.
