Kulanu Academy (KA), located in Cedarhurst, NY, is a school whose mission is to provide educational, social and advocacy services to children and young adults with disabilities and to their families. DOF provided a $880,000 loan to KA, the proceeds of which provided partial financing for the purchase of, and $150,000 for renovations to the two related properties which house its school.
The loan allows KA to realize its goal of owning its school buildings and become more sustainable over time and to have greater control over the space in which it operates.
